Manufacture

Currently 10 highly skilled orthotic technicians are employed and work on site.

S.G. Bull & Co. have an active programme of training technicians to develop their skills and to be competent in different areas of orthotic manufacture. Having multi skilled orthotic technicians enables the organisation to change the manufacturing to suit the current level of demand.

All plastic and metal orthoses are made on site, along with all footwear adaptations and repairs. S.G. Bull & Co. is the only orthotic company that manufacture surgical footwear on site in Northern Ireland.

The manufacture of all bespoke footwear and orthoses on site enables the orthotists to communicate at all times face to face with the manufacturing technicians to ensure the best most appropriate product is made. The most dramatic impact of this operating system is the very low rework rate of 2 percent as opposed to an industry standard of 10 percent.
